Sutton drew just about the best werewolves in comics and this here is a fine example. One of his very best Charlton jobs.
He was a vastly underrated artist. Admittedly, some of his work for Charlton was incredibly rushed -- or "hacked out" to be brutally honest -- but he was "on", he was terrific.
I have this comic somewhere in the garage. Sutton was fantastic. While I tend to favor his Charlton and Warren work, he was always, always an interesting artist. Even his "hacked out" work was fun to see.
He tried out for Swamp Thing but didn't get it. Talk about a missed opportunity for perfect casting.
As much Sutton as you can put up please.
certainly do love ourselves some Tom Sutton here on the Street, guys. interesting that he didn't get the Swamp Thing gig ( I didn't know he even tried out for it ); that would've been something beautiful to see. Oscar, if you scroll down through the labels you'll find a generous & healthy 11 more great Tom Sutton "joints" for your delight and edification, with the promise of more to come!
cheers.
