Had a lot of spare time, didja? LOL
These are just incredible, aren't they?
it DID take some doing, mate. &, yes, they're fantastic.
What happened with the colour on #83?
And #162 is out of sequence. I'll send you a scan of the cover of my own copy of #83. It's a 9d issue 'though.
I look forward to your "Kirby's birthday" update every year, and you didn't disappoint this year. Just don't forget next year.
Happy birthday Jack KING Kirby!!!
as usual wonderful post, check out issue 88 though,It looks like steve ditko drew Loki, there is a slight clue in the lightning bolt, the figure is almost identical to electro's stance and bolt throwing and that face is very steve ditko....
I think Ditko perhaps inked that cover.
you may be right Kid.
now that did not sound good when i re-read it!
ha ha hh aaaaa!
and i reckon that 169 is a kirby montage with the central figures by jazzy john romita...
sorry folks but when i was a kid this is what I did to show off to my brother., 'guess the artist!'
this is also my third time staring at those magnificent covers,I loved thor when jack kirby drew him.
167 is john romita too.
right thats enuff!
next year you're getting ONE FUCKING PICTURE and that's you're lot!
thanks for the scans, Kid.
Great post, thanks much! My 6 year-old and I had a blast going through these together!
Who drew the face on #158? Even with bad inking there is no way that's Jack.
seems it's Marie Severin, Joe. doesn't look like her style to me, but everywhere I've checked says it's her.
Man, I didn't see Marie, either, though I suppose it could be. It's one of those perennially debatable puzzles, I think. LOL
