I'm not a Tuska fan but I'm impressed with this. I wonder how much of it is due to Cardy. It's too bad little effort was used (in those days) to find inkers that meshed well with pencillers.
The first splash page pointedly drives home one thing that always bugged me whenever a group shot features a super-speed character like Kid Flash.
Why do artists draw group shots with team members dashing forward, yet the "super-speed" hero is BEHIND some of the others? Shouldn't it be the reverse?
well, a lot of the girls' faces are redrawn by Cardy, for sure. . .
and Chuck, when you're right you're right! it seems so bleeding obvious now that you've put it out there, but I can't for the life of me think why it never dawned on me before!
Simple - he'd be blocking our view of Wonder Girl.
