Heh heh heh heh....

On the point of the Filipine artists, I recently got that new DC Showcase volume, and there's some cracking stuff there from Alcala and Nino, and not forgetting Yandoc ( AKA Rubeny I think ) , who is equally brilliant.

On the subject of Ruben( Rubeny ) Yandoc, I found the following Philipine webpage --

http://pilipinokomiks.blogspot.com/2008/03/early-ruben-yandoc-work-1951.html

One of the bloggers commenting makes a good point, that at times, all the Phillipino artists' styles looked quite similar, but then they developed their own distinct styles, which I think is true.

Rubeny for his part perfectly depicts/lambasts/critiques a real kind of misanthropic, vindictive spiteful kind of character type in his work.
