I just found your incredible blog ! One of the best for comic heads online --amazing work ! Thanks very very very very much. A lot of these titles I haven't seen since I was a child, some 40 years or so ago.
Many many thanks ! I will be sure to visit a lot !
Thanks,
Gnostic in Korea.
PS Can readers subscribe to your webpage, so we get news of updates?
and thanks for your kind words, Gnostic in Korea. glad you enjoyed your visit, and I hope to be seeing a whole lot more of you here on the Street. as best I know, friend, the obvious way to follow this site is to join up with the other "followers" up there at the top of the page.
I see also, that you have lots of scans from those great mid 70's DC horror comic writers/illustrators, many of whom ( the artists at least) were from the Phillipines orginally. Where did you get the original comics? Not many collectors take them seriously so I am so glad to find them. Is that attitude changing though? ( It's only comparatively recently that SHOWCASE repackaged them, and House of Mystery got a re-issue edition ) I know they were pretty much laughed at in the early to mid 80's. Where did you get your copies? Are they expensive to buy on the market, or did you save yours from the 70's?
Anyway -- thanks a hundred times -- your is the best blog I have seen in some time, and I have passed on your link to fellow comic heads.
Now, just to close, I will add the weirdest 1940's/50's comic book cover I discovered in my surfing last night --
PS Do you have anything from ADAM ETERNO comics ( From 1970's UK comic, Lion and Thunder ) on your website ? I am a member of an ADAM ETERNO comics web appreciation group, and I have linked them to your site too.
most of the comics I have that you're referring to are comics that I just kept from years back, but you can still pick up pretty cheap copies if you shop around.
that cover's a cracker!
and I don't have any Adam Eterno scans, myself, mate, but you'll find plenty right here. . .
About the Batman adventures #16, the killing book. You'll notice there's a "one shot" boy character in this issue. Being featured as yourself in this issue was the prize of a contest from fox kids in 1993. Anyway, I was that kid. It was a fun experience & a nice time in my life.
