Wonderful cover. Reed CRandall is quite the artist. Aside from the obvious racial caricature, terrific artwork.

I actually miss artwork like this. I like the mixture of realistic human anatomy and cartoon caricature. That is a style they should bring back.

I get what you're saying about missing artwork like this. I try not to sound like an old bastard, I really do, but you can give me just the one Crandall splash over a whole book of almost anyone working these days ANY time. not that there aren't great artists out there, there are, it's just that too many of those working professionally seem to rely too much on special effects and computer jiggery-pokery. that's just the way things is, I guess, but - call me old-fashioned if you like - I prefer my comic artists to be able to draw.
