Always felt that Mike Barr really GOT Batman in ways most writers don't. And Davis was perfect for these stories. rarely a false note from his artwork. I missed meeting him last year at the first Con I've attended in years!

These two were shaping up for a great run, the Year Two came along, was complete bollocks, and Davis jumped over to Marvel.

If I was top dog at DC, I'd court Davis like mad. The guy should be doing Supes, Batman, the JLA, something there.

I remember this story.

Robin being so weak makes him more human and complex as a character.

Thanks for sharing.

I was lucky enough to meet Alan at a signing a couple of years ago. he had something wrong with his hand at the time, so he was only going to do a handful of sketches, so I got meself first in line and he did me a terrific pencil sketch of the Joker.

and Year Two was arse. I'd love to see a regular Alan Davis DC gig.

I absolutely loved the Barr-Davis run on Batman! And I especially loved this one, as it featured my second favorite Batman villain (Catwoman was number one). Thanks for posting this!

I think it's sad that batmans fear was Jason dying...too bad that it actually happened.

Terrific story! I want to track down these issues. I'm hoping that DC will put out a collection of Alan Davis Batman stories, like they're doing for Gene Colan, Marshall Rogers, etc. Thank you for sharing these.
