Right. Here's me six random things.
1. When I was born, my mum and dad named me Matthew. I soon developed lead poisoning in the blood, and it was expected that I was going to die, so the parents had me christened Joseph. Then, I got better. My parents, being superstitious, decided that the name Joseph was obviously a good omen, and from then on that was my name. Since then, everything is in the name of Joseph, hospital records, school records, tax and work history, the lot. The upshot of this is that there is record of Matthew Ackerman being born, but disappearing off the map immediately after, and there is record of a whole life for Joseph Ackerman, but no record of him ever being born. When I travel abroad, I have to carry not only my passport ( Matthew Ackerman ), but also my birth certificate and a sworn affidavit stating that Matthew Ackerman is in fact Joseph Ackerman.
2. I don't like Lord of the Rings. At all.
3. I bunked off school for three straight years. Between the ages of twelve and fifteen, fed up with being bullied, and crap teachers, I decided that the traditional education system was not for me, and determined that I would teach myself the stuff that I needed to know. To this end, I would go in to school in the morning, get signed in the register, and then leave by the back gate. I spent three years cloistered away at the back of the St. John's Library, Islington, North London, reading what I wanted to read, and what I thought I needed to read. Consequently, I have a vast knowledge of Classical Greek, and Russian literature, a solid grounding in French Decadence and Victorian Children's Book Illustration, and know absolutely fuck all about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Or maths.
4. I was a Viking in the promo video for Tenpole Tudor's single Wunderbar.
5. I have read Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Books every single summer since I was sixteen. Usually sitting outside a pub, with a pint, and always in one sitting.
6. I don't believe in God. Or ghosts. Or Happy Ever Afters. But I do believe in Faeries.
Man, that's not quite as easy as it looks.
OK. Here's me 6 other tagged bloggers.
Mark.

Nicely done! I particularly like # 5! I've only read it once when i was about twelve but have fond memories.
One of the points of this is to discover new blogs so I'm off to check out your list now (3 of whom nearly made MY list). Whatsa deal with "Fluff" ? Won't even letcha go there.
yeah, I forgot that Fluff's blog is invitation only.
I love The Jungle Books. I have somewhere in the region of thirty odd different editions, my prize one being a pristine MacMillan paperback from 1961 called All The Mowgli Stories. that's the one I take to the pub with me. I heartily recommend that you read it again, fella.
Mine's up, Mighty One!
Mine's up, too. Can't say I tried too hard. Sorry.
It's up! Can't turn down the "Joe!" now can I!
Mine is here.
I'll have something up on Wednesday!
Nah....put me back on the list. I'm done with being emo.
Not sure where the other 6 is going to come from, though. Took me about 2 weeks to think of '10 things you never knew about Fluff'.
BTW....seems we spent our school years doing the same things :)
